Beckman seeks a multi-talented scientist to join our FAS team. This is primarily a customer-facing role, in which you will work with scientists to understand their application requirements and help to adapt their workflows to the outstanding capabilities of our liquid handling and automation product portfolio. Our innovative instruments are used worldwide in multiple subject areas including genomics, drug discovery, cancer research, and synthetic biology. Our Field Application Specialists work closely with sales and support staff to provide high-level customer support before, during, and after a sale. Therefore, we need someone, who has bench experience, market knowledge, and is ready to expand their horizons and seek the next challenge as we enable scientists to automate assays and help accelerating answers to life\xe2\x80\x99s important scientific and healthcare questions. We also need strong written and verbal communication skills to present the advantages of our product portfolio to scientific customers

Your key responsibilities

Provide applications support across multiple scientific subject areas including drug discovery and genomics

Pair up with sales team for pre-sales presentations and serve as scientific and technical resource

Understand the scope of customer projects and be able to adapt and optimize existing workflows as required

Plan and execute product demonstrations for prospective customers

Prepare and present seminars and posters at conferences

Develop new applications through industrial and academic network

Provide customer training and support; maintain positive customer relations

Build, adapt, and optimize liquid handling and automation protocols to improve customer workflows

Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and serve as a liaison with internal customer support teams as needed

Be prepared for up to 70% overnight middle east regional and international travel, sometimes on short notice

The ideal candidate for this role has the following qualifications:

University degree in biological sciences, biotechnology or a related subject

Possess a valid driving license for car

The position is home-based and will require up to 70% travel

Fluency in English is required for this role, any other additional language particular Arabic and French is beneficial

Hands-on experience with laboratory automation equipment is highly desirable

A background in molecular biology and experience in Next Generation Sequencing is of advantage

A previous experience of technical or applications support within a diagnostic or life science company is beneficial, but we also welcome new starters
