Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Fiber Technician

to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic networks for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber installation, splicing, testing, and diagnostics, and will ensure reliable high-speed internet and telecommunications service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode). Interpret and work from construction blueprints, network diagrams, and technical documentation. Conduct site surveys to assess and prepare for installation and repair work. Use OTDR, power meters, and other testing equipment to verify signal integrity and performance. Perform maintenance and emergency repairs on existing fiber infrastructure. Document installation and maintenance activities accurately, using software or manual reporting tools. Collaborate with field engineers, project managers, and other technicians to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Adhere to all safety guidelines and industry standards while working in diverse environments (aerial, underground, indoors). Provide technical support to customers or team members when troubleshooting network issues.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED. 1-3 years of experience working with fiber optic systems. Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, splicing techniques, and testing tools. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
