Job Description
We are hiring
experienced Fiber Optic Cabling & Splicing Technicians
for ourUK fiber network project
.The ideal candidate will have
hands-on experience in FTTX, OFC installation, splicing, and testing
, with the ability to manage field work independently and supervise small teams when required.Key Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise
termination and splicing
of SM and Ribbon Fiber Optic Cables (48F to 1000F). Conducttesting and troubleshooting
using OTDR, power meter, laser source, and talk set. ExecuteOFC cable laying, rodding, and roping
for various capacities (12F-1000F). Carry outcable preparation, fusion splicing, testing, and ODF installation
. Ensure properlabelling, documentation, and configuration diagrams
for all work performed. ManageMDF/IDF equipment
, ensuring all patch cords are properly dressed and labelled. Inspect and maintainfiber routes and joint enclosures
for preventive maintenance. Handleinstallations, troubleshooting, and maintenance
of all fiber optic systems on site. Measuresignal strength
to verify performance standards. Maintainsafety standards
, neat cabling, and site cleanliness at all times. Capable ofworking at heights
and inconfined spaces
when required.Requirements:
Proven experience in
FTTX projects
andOSP Operations environments
. Proficient infusion splicing
,ribbon fiber
, andloose tube
cables. Familiarity withfiber optic test equipment
(OTDR, VFL, Power Meter). Ability to read and interpretfiber network diagrams and layouts
. Good understanding ofsingle-mode and multi-mode fibers
. Experience withvendor-specific splicing machines
andtechniques
. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Physically fit to climb poles and perform site work safely.Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
