The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in
FTTX
,
OFC installation
,
splicing
,
testing
, and
civil activities
such as duct laying, reinstatement, and site supervision.
Candidates must be capable of handling field operations independently and managing small teams when required.

Execute OFC cable laying, rodding, and roping for various capacities (12F-1000F).
Carry out cable preparation, fusion splicing, OFC testing, and
ODF installation
.
Ensure proper labelling, documentation, and configuration diagrams for all work performed.
Manage MDF/IDF equipment, ensuring patch cords are properly dressed and labelled.
Inspect and maintain fiber routes, joint enclosures, and perform preventive maintenance.
Handle installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all fiber optic systems on-site.
Measure signal strength to verify that performance meets required standards.
Maintain safety standards, neat cabling practices, and site cleanliness at all times.
Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
Civil Work Responsibilities (Fixed Network Projects)
Supervise civil activities including
site setup, duct laying, chamber construction, reinstatement
, and compliance with
NRSWA regulations
.
Conduct daily site audits ensuring work meets technical and quality standards.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and local authorities.
Manage field teams and subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance and quality execution.
Handle permits, notices, and ensure compliance with UK telecom civil work regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, pre-site surveys, and highlight issues proactively.
Requirements
Proven experience in
FTTX projects
,
OSP operations
, and civil works for telecom networks.
Strong proficiency in
fusion splicing
, ribbon fiber, and loose tube cables.
Hands-on experience with fiber test tools (
OTDR, VFL, Power Meter, etc.
)
Ability to read and interpret
fiber network diagrams, civil layouts, and technical drawings
.
Good understanding of
Ribbon-mode fibers
.
Experience with splicing machines and vendor-specific tools.
Strong documentation, reporting, and quality compliance skills.
Physically fit to climb poles, work at heights, and carry out field duties safely.
Knowledge of NRSWA standards is an added advantage.
Strong leadership and ability to supervise small field teams.
