Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea beverages, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests. The role requires product knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for coffee culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages in accordance with company recipes and standards. Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately. Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other cafe equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station and customer area. Ensure stock levels are maintained and notify the supervisor of any shortages. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations. Upsell beverages and food items to enhance the guest experience. Handle cash and POS transactions accurately. Assist with opening and closing duties of the cafe. Participate in regular training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer-facing role (preferred). Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a friendly, positive attitude. Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry moderate loads (e.g., coffee supplies, milk cartons). Manual dexterity for operating machines and preparing beverages.
