The ideal candidate will have experience using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) to assemble and repair steel components in shipbuilding, barge construction, or other marine structures. This position requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform FCAW welding on various structural and marine-grade steels according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
Fabricate and assemble structural components such as hull sections, frames, decks, and bulkheads.
Conduct tack welding, full-penetration welds, and multi-pass welds as required.
Inspect welds for defects using visual inspection and measuring tools; perform rework when necessary
Operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and cutting equipment.
Work in various environments including dry docks, shipyards, and onboard vessels--indoors and outdoors.
Follow company safety policies, OSHA standards, and marine welding codes (e.g., ABS, DNV).
Maintain welding equipment and keep tools in good working condition.
