Fashion Designer - Job Add Modern and feminine with a focus on exquisite detail, Bthaina fuses refined beauty with understated luxury. Based in Oman, Bthaina creates intricately hand embellished kaftans and abayas, taking inspiration from Eastern and Western influences. Luxurious, feminine and chic, Bthaina is the epitome of modest sophistication. Buthaina Al Zadjali started her label in 2010, designing kaftans and abayas for a few select customers. After an overwhelmingly positive response, she opened her first boutique in 2011. Passionate about art and fashion, Buthaina loves pattern and colour and finding new ways to recreate traditional Omani techniques. After 11 years on the market, we are looking to hire a talented Fashion Designer with panache and flair to capture the essence of Bthaina. The Fashion Designer will shadow Bthaina to understand the unique approach to colors, patterns and motifs for each season. To ensure success, the designer must be able to capture the spirit of Bthaina in her own creations and apply it as product strategy for each season's forecasted trend. Responsibilities:

• Managing design process from conception (designing sketches - CAD) through approved final design
• Creating embroidery, sequins and crystals patters inspired by Omani traditional wear.
• Testing and deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns and textures for each design
• Overseeing the production of designs, including carrying out fittings, determining prices
• Maintain a daily follow up on production team by entertaining various demands from the team members in order to approve designs or change of fabrics and/or patterns
• Be involved in fabrics and accessories selection
• Working with the design team to create mood boards
• Trend research
• Collaborating with the main designer & management team to develop ideas for brand development

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Post-secondary training in fashion design or fine arts.
• Minimum 1 year in the field
• Proficient with Design apps or Illustrator & Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to do sketches by hand
• Excellent design & conceptual skills
• Excellent sense of style and color.
• Outstanding communication skills
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Good knowledge of fabrics & accessories
• High attention to details
• Can speak 2 languages from which 1 is English or Arabic.
