Roles or Responsibilities:

To lead and foster a positive safety culture, conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards, and ensure all team members adhere to established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). To make sure that all farm operations comply with relevant health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations and laws. Train workers on safe operating procedures for machinery and equipment, proper handling of hazardous substances (like pesticides and fertilizers), animal handling techniques, and emergency response plans. To supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain optimal animal and crop health and welfare, including administering vaccinations, managing biosecurity measures, and identifying signs of disease or pests. Oversee the safe use and maintenance of all farm infrastructure, vehicles, and machinery, ensuring any equipment needing repair is not used until fixed. Maintain accurate records related to safety inspections, incidents, training, production, and animal/crop health. Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and corrective/preventive actions to mitigate potential harm or loss. Coordinate daily tasks, manage work schedules, delegate responsibilities, and resolve operational challenges and conflicts among the team.
