The Role
To support Fixed Assets and Inventory process optimisation and best practice across IHS, perform Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting for the assigned entities and finalize applicable high-quality balance sheet reconciliations which can stand the test of audit. Customers/Partners in the region, Group Financial Control team, External and Internal Auditors. \xe2\x80\xa2 Support change, process standardization & continuous improvement mindset across IHS \xe2\x80\xa2 Solid knowledge of fixed asset and inventory best practice & trends \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversee the daily activities of FA&I officers and approval of system postings \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversight and approval of Fixed Asset additions, retires, adjustments, enhancements, revaluations and transfers \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversight and approval of Inventory Accounting activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Review and first level approval of FA&I- GL reconciliations \xe2\x80\xa2 Deep understanding of the end-to-end FA&I processes \xe2\x80\xa2 Support performance management and reporting against fixed asset and inventory metrics \xe2\x80\xa2 Support training and education on new policies, practices and standards \xe2\x80\xa2 Duties of an FA&I Officer \xe2\x80\xa2 Fixed Asset and Inventory Officer Duties \xe2\x80\xa2 Create new asset in D365 \xe2\x80\xa2 Update Fixed Asset movements in D365 \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform asset write-down/ revaluation in D365 \xe2\x80\xa2 Update Fixed Asset disposals in D365 \xe2\x80\xa2 Month-end processing \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform Fixed Asset GL reconciliation \xe2\x80\xa2 Journal postings \xe2\x80\xa2 Journal approval \xe2\x80\xa2 Produce month-end reports \xe2\x80\xa2 Month-end depreciation calculation and processing (post) \xe2\x80\xa2 Production of high quality FA&I data to support tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting \xe2\x80\xa2 Inventory accounting (i.e. SLOB, write offs, bulk diesel accruals, GIT) \xe2\x80\xa2 Stock count entries in D365 \xe2\x80\xa2 Purchase price variance (PPV) \xe2\x80\xa2 Cost of sales analysis \xe2\x80\xa2 Inventory valuation \xe2\x80\xa2 Product costing \xe2\x80\xa2 Deep understanding of the end-to-end FA&I processes \xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrate competencies in financial accounting, analytical thinking and problem solving \xe2\x80\xa2 Working knowledge of applicable IFRS and IAS (IFRS 16 and IAS 16, 36 and 37) Functional Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Financial Accounting \xe2\x80\xa2 Analytical thinking \xe2\x80\xa2 Problem Solving \xe2\x80\xa2 Influence & impact \xe2\x80\xa2 End to End process standardisation, optimisation and automation \xe2\x80\xa2 Integrity and business continuity

Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years post graduate experience (essential) \xe2\x80\xa2 Worked in Shared Services type environment (desirable) \xe2\x80\xa2 Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (essential) \xe2\x80\xa2 Experienced people management across cultural and under pressure
