Job Description

Job Summary:

The Factory Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective production processes in a manufacturing environment. This role involves planning, designing, and optimizing factory layouts, production systems, equipment, and processes to maximize productivity, reduce waste, and maintain product quality. The engineer also supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain efficient manufacturing systems and processes. Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety. Develop and update factory layouts to support workflow optimization. Oversee equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain. Support new product introduction by designing appropriate manufacturing methods and tooling. Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Develop and maintain engineering documentation including SOPs, process flow diagrams, and maintenance schedules. Train operators and maintenance staff on new equipment and processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. At least 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or factory environment. Strong knowledge of production systems, factory automation, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and manufacturing simulation tools. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Knowledge of quality management systems.
