Key Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting:
Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings for facade systems including curtain walls, aluminium cladding, windows, doors, skylights, etc.
Create 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and other design software as required
Develop technical drawings based on architectural plans, structural drawings, and project specifications
Technical Coordination:
Coordinate with the production, procurement, site, and estimation teams to ensure smooth transition from design to execution
Review architectural and structural drawings to extract necessary information for facade design
Incorporate consultant/client comments and revise designs accordingly
Material & System Knowledge:
Apply knowledge of different facade systems such as stick, unitized, structural glazing, ACP cladding, spider glazing, etc.
Assist in selecting appropriate materials and systems based on performance, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety codes, and project-specific requirements
Prepare technical submittals and coordinate for design approvals from consultants
Maintain version control and documentation for all design outputs
Problem Solving & Support:
Provide design-related support to the site team during installation and mock-up reviews
Identify and resolve potential design conflicts or challenges during the pre-construction phase
Requirements
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of UAE experience in facade design (aluminium and glass industry)
Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must; knowledge of Revit, Rhino, or SolidWorks is an advantage
Familiarity with facade systems, aluminium profiles, and fabrication techniques
Strong understanding of architectural detailing and construction methods
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Good communication skills in English; ability to coordinate with internal teams and clients
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
