Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Fabrication Coordinator

to oversee and manage the fabrication workflow within our metal fabrication shop, with a primary focus on fencing systems, metal cutting, and welding operations. The successful candidate will coordinate between design, production, and site installation teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality fabrication output.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily operations of metal fabrication projects, particularly related to fencing, structural frames, gates, and custom metalwork. Supervise and schedule fabrication activities including

cutting, welding, grinding, and finishing

. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure correct fabrication. Liaise with the design/engineering team to clarify specifications and resolve design discrepancies. Ensure that all materials and equipment required for fabrication are available and prepared on time. Monitor fabrication quality to ensure products meet internal standards and client requirements. Maintain production timelines and update project progress regularly. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to manage materials and minimize downtime. Implement and enforce safety procedures and quality standards in the workshop. Train and guide fabrication staff on techniques, tools, and best practices when necessary. Support installation teams with fabrication-related queries and adjustments.

Requirements:

Proven experience (3+ years)

in metal fabrication coordination, preferably in fencing, structural fabrication, or similar industries. Strong knowledge of

welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick)

, metal cutting methods (plasma, oxy-fuel, shearing), and general fabrication operations. Ability to read and interpret

technical drawings and blueprints

. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. Basic knowledge of CAD software is an advantage. Familiar with workshop safety procedures and quality control standards. Physically capable of being on the shop floor for supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, or related field. Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus. Experience with fencing fabrication projects (residential, commercial, industrial) is highly desirable.
