Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Supervision:

Quality Assurance (QA/QC):

Conduct daily on-site inspections of all facade installation works, including curtain wall erection, cladding panel alignment, sealing, and firestopping details, ensuring strict adherence to approved mock-ups and specifications.

Installation Oversight:

Supervise the erection process, verifying anchoring systems, load transfer points, thermal breaks, and the tolerance of primary and secondary steel/aluminum structures.

Testing & Commissioning:

Witness and manage all required on-site performance tests, including water penetration, air leakage, and structural deflection tests for mock-ups and installed sections.

Defect Rectification:

Proactively identify and report quality deviations or defects (

NCRs

), and monitor the sub-contractor's corrective actions to ensure rapid closure.

Design Coordination & Technical Review:

Review and verify all contractor submittals, including shop drawings, material samples, calculations, and fabrication drawings, ensuring compliance with the original design intent and

UAE regulatory requirements

(e.g., DM, ADM, Civil Defense). Coordinate extensively with Architectural, Structural, and MEP teams to manage complex interfaces between the facade, slab edges, roof structures, and services (lighting, window cleaning systems). Manage the material inspection process (MIR) for all delivered facade components to verify quality, quantity, and compliance before installation.

HSE & Documentation:

Ensure all site works related to facade installation, scaffolding, and working at height adhere to UNEC's rigorous

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

standards. Maintain comprehensive records of all inspections, site diaries, test results, technical queries, and progress reports related to the building envelope scope.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum

5 to 8 years

of dedicated experience as a Facade Engineer, with a proven track record of supervising complex

high-rise or mixed-use projects

in the UAE or GCC region.

Mandatory Local Knowledge:

In-depth familiarity with UAE building codes, local authority approval processes, and regional climate challenges (e.g., thermal performance, dust and sand infiltration).

Technical Expertise:

Strong practical knowledge of various facade systems, including: Unitized and Stick Curtain Wall Systems (Aluminum/Glass) Structural Glazing and Skylights Stone, Metal, and Composite Cladding (ACP) systems Balustrades and specialized sun-shading devices.

Software Skills:

Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings using

AutoCAD

and experience collaborating with

BIM/Revit

models for clash detection.

Skills:
