Job Description

Executive Director

The Executive Director will be responsible for managing the performance, financial and non-financial of the Group and its subsidiaries, in coordination with the Finance Director. He/she shall assess and develop Group\'s and its subsidiaries\' strategic direction and financial KPIs. This role will also require the Executive Director to oversee the daily operations of the Group and provide executive direction on the planning and implementation of projects. The Executive Director shall also assess the group\'s current standing and put together a successful action plan (including group wide re-branding and restructuring exercises where needed). Restructuring exercises shall also include assessing the group\'s staffing requirements for efficient operations and maintaining a strong work culture that attracts and retains staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Direction
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the Group, its partner organisations, and subsidiaries from both a financial and non-financial perspective.
  • Develop and implement a successful business plan for the Group and its subsidiaries in coordination with the executive director and members of the board.
  • Assess the Group\'s assets and financial standing and provide recommendations on investments and revenue maximisation.
  • Identify the Group\'s organisational, operational, and financial challenges and develop an action plan accordingly, which includes concrete and attainable targets/KPIs, restructuring exercises where needed and crisis management plans.
  • Assume responsibility for the treasury function, including fundraising and attaining loans for the Group Projects where needed.
  • Work with the board members on creating new organizational policies and procedures where needed.
  • Represent the Group on different Boards as necessary.
Operations Management
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker on core operational activities including human resources, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Assess and manage the Group\'s staff in the successful execution of their duties where required.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of projects.
  • Ensure that projects contribute to the fulfilment of Group\'s mission and reflect the priorities and core values of the organization.
Financial Planning, Management and Development
  • Work with the group\'s staff and the Finance department to prepare comprehensive annual budgets.
  • Administer Group\'s funds in accordance with the approved budget.
  • Monitor the cash flow of the organization and ensure that the board is provided with monthly reports on the revenues and expenditures of the organization.
  • Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed, and that the Group complies with all relevant regulations.
Risk Management
  • Identify and evaluate risks that might impact the Group and develop risk mitigation plans and implement measures as needed.
Human Resources Planning and Management
  • Support the recruitment of staff with the right background and skillsets to help further the Group\'s mission. Ensure that the HR department conduct the appropriate orientation and training for new staff members and advise and mentor staff to improve performance.
Position Requirements:
  • Proven relevant experience as an Executive Director or a similar senior level position.
  • Experience in developing strategies and plans for organizations of a similar or larger size.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management.
  • Ability to devise and apply successful financial and non-financial action plans.
  • Ability to network and foster healthy partnerships both from a B2B and B2C perspective.
  • A master\'s in business administration/an equivalent or advanced degree and relevant certifications preferably in the Finance, Accounting or Project Management fields.
  • High proficiency in languages, particularly strong written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in report writing and analysis where needed.
