INTRODUCTION TO THE ETIHAD MUSEUM A 21st century museum, the Etihad Museum is focused on inspiring its visitors with the story of the founding of the UAE. The 25,000 m2 landmark is befittingly located at the very place where the UAE was founded in 1971. Through a unique visitor journey, the various pavilions house experience-driven exhibitions, interactive programmes and education initiatives that explore the chronology of events that culminated in the unification of the Emirates in 1971, with a key emphasis on the period between 1968 and 1974. The programmes also aim to educate visitors about the nation’s constitution, in particular - the rights, privileges and responsibilities that it bestows upon the people of the UAE. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Championing the intersection of two meaningful and markable facets of experience: exploring and remembering. Etihad Experience Executives will be responsible for leading a variety of diversified programmes that commemorate, reflect and celebrate the achievements of Etihad (Union). The flagship programme requires staff who will go above and beyond to deliver this exclusive programme at the museum and engage it’s all age audience. RESPONSIBILITIES Etihad Experience Executives will ensure the continuous enjoyment of participants, whilst keeping the dignity of the UAE and solemnity of events always at the heart of key themes. The team will create a “must-do” educational visit and importantly, instil a spirit that fosters repeat visits. The content of courses will be focused around the events and stories that culminated in the foundation of the UAE, with delivery methods expertly tailored to be relevant to the different audience segments and allowing a spirit of creativity and innovation to flourish. FUNCTIONS
  • Present a warm, fun and proactive attitude towards the visitors of the Etihad Museum with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Learn factual, historical and contemporary information about the UAE’s history and present it in an exciting, fresh, and engaging manner to varied audiences through interactive programmes
  • Adapting the visitor experience to cater for all nationalities and ages, special interests, and different sizes of groups
  • Presenting enthusiasm and positive attitude towards the UAE and its ethos, culture, history, arts and events
  • Informing participants about the itinerary for each programme and planning itineraries
  • Scheduling visits and arranging tickets to programmes and answering any questions, as required
  • Conducting a variety of first-class programmes in an enthusiastic, informative, and engaging manner to the specifications and quality required
  • Gathering and maintaining the required equipment and documents to deliver each programme
  • Research and review topical details about the history, locations and upcoming events in the country
  • Directing programme participants to other, non-competing educational facilities, events and activities that might be of interest to them
  • In the event of an emergency, assist participants in safe evacuation according to the agreed evacuation procedures
  • Observe and analyse participants’ behaviour and provide snr project coordinator with feedback on how the experience can be improved, based on observation and feedback
  • Attend any training course you are required to do, in order to maintain standards

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Graduates
  • (Particularly in Performance, Acting, Education, Museum & sport studies.)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar visitor-facing role, ideally in education services.
  • Knowledge of the UAE’s history and cultural background.
  • English and Arabic proficiency.
  • Experience in teaching will be a bonus

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Pleasant museum environment.
  • Core museum opening hours are 10am - 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
  • Shift work, 5/ 6 days weekly
  • Some uniform elements (provided)
  • Occasional after-hours project-related tasks (evenings and weekends) may be required.
