Job Description

Estimating & Cost Analysis

Prepare detailed cost estimates for swimming pool construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. Review architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and site information. Conduct material, labor, and equipment takeoffs. Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness. Develop value-engineering options to optimize project costs. Create bid proposals, pricing packages, and supporting documentation.

Project Coordination

Work closely with sales, design, and engineering teams to clarify project scope. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed. Coordinate with suppliers for up-to-date pricing of materials, equipment, and technology (pumps, filters, liners, lighting, etc.). Assist project managers with budget updates and cost breakdowns during project execution.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain historical cost data and update pricing databases. Prepare cost comparison sheets, risk assessments, and bid summaries. Ensure estimates comply with codes, standards, and company policies.

QualificationsEducation

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating, preferably in swimming pool construction, general construction, or landscaping. Knowledge of pool systems (plumbing, filtration, electrical, structural) is a plus.

Skills

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Pool Studio) and MS Office. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and scopes of work. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
