We are currently seeking an
experienced Estimator
with a strong background in
props, theming, model making, and fabrication
to join our UAE operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing, budgeting, and cost planning for bespoke creative fabrication projects across the region.
Role Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for themed environments, props, scenic elements, and large-scale creative installations. This role requires a deep understanding of materials, fabrication methods, finishes, and production processes used in the theming and entertainment fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will blend technical precision with creative understanding to ensure competitive and accurate project pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing schedules for props, theming, and model fabrication projects.
Analyse drawings, concepts, and creative briefs to assess project requirements, scope, and material specifications.
Collaborate closely with design, production, and project management teams to develop accurate costing models.
Source and evaluate supplier quotations, materials, and fabrication costs to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
Build and maintain a reliable database of material, labour, and subcontractor costs specific to scenic fabrication and theming.
Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize budgets and maintain project profitability.
Support bid submissions and tender documentation by providing clear and detailed pricing breakdowns.
Review project variations and provide updated cost analyses during project lifecycle.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fabrication technologies, materials, and regional market rates.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Proven experience as an
Estimator
within the
theming, props, scenic fabrication, or creative manufacturing industry
.
Strong technical understanding of
materials, finishes, carpentry, GRP, metalwork, painting, and scenic techniques
.
Ability to interpret design intent drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents accurately.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
,
AutoCAD
, or
estimating software
(such as Candy, CostX, or similar).
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines with professionalism and precision.
Commercial awareness and a strong understanding of project cost structures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Industrial Design, or related field.
5+ years' experience in props, theming, or creative fabrication estimation (theme parks, museums, leisure, or entertainment sectors preferred).
Previous experience working in the UAE or GCC region.
Knowledge of themed environment production workflows (CNC, GRP, scenic painting, moulding & casting, etc.).
