ESTIMATION MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Estimation Manager is responsible for leading the preparation, coordination, and submission of accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, market conditions, and company objectives. This role involves managing a team of estimators, liaising with internal departments, and maintaining cost databases to support successful project bidding and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and mentor the estimation team in preparing detailed cost estimates for projects. Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine scope of work and required resources. Prepare cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads. Conduct site visits and liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to gather relevant project data. Analyze historical cost data and market trends to ensure estimates are competitive and accurate. Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project management teams for cost input and technical clarity. Manage the tender process from initial inquiry through to submission, ensuring deadlines are met. Review and finalize estimates, ensuring compliance with company policies and client specifications. Maintain and update cost databases, price lists, and estimation tools. Participate in post-tender negotiations and handover meetings with project execution teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in estimation, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing. Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tenders and work under tight deadlines.
