to lead our aluminum and facade estimation department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost proposals, managing tender submissions, and providing strategic commercial insights that directly impact the company's profitability and market position. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership ability to drive excellence in estimation and tendering processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Tendering
Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates for aluminum and facade systems including curtain walls, cladding, windows, louvers, and doors.
Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Deliver comprehensive and compliant tender submissions within tight deadlines.
2. Cost Analysis & Risk Assessment
Break down costs into direct, indirect, overheads, and contingencies.
Identify risks, discrepancies, and cost optimization opportunities within tender documents.
Recommend value engineering alternatives to improve competitiveness and profitability.
3. Vendor & Supplier Coordination
Source competitive quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Maintain and update cost databases, market rates, and historical pricing records.
Evaluate and negotiate technical and commercial offers for best value procurement.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align estimates with execution strategies.
Partner with sales and business development teams to formulate pricing strategies.
Support post-tender negotiations, clarifications, and contract finalization.
5. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Manage, train, and mentor a team of estimators and quantity surveyors.
Standardize estimation procedures, tools, and templates to ensure efficiency and consistency.
Drive compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
10-15 years of experience
in aluminum and facade estimation, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of curtain walls, stick and unitized systems, structural glazing, cladding, and architectural aluminum solutions.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software such as CCS (Candy), PlanSwift, or equivalent.
Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and negotiation ability.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
