Job Title: Estimation Engineer (fire)

Department: Estimation

Reports To: Estimation Manager / MEP Manager

Job Summary:

The Firefighting & Fire Alarm Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for firefighting & Fire Alarm systems in line with project requirements, codes, and standards. This includes reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, and coordinating with suppliers and other engineering disciplines to support the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities:

Review tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQs), to understand project scope and requirements for firefighting systems. Perform detailed quantity take-offs for piping, valves, fittings, sprinklers, pumps, and other firefighting system components. Prepare cost estimates and pricing based on material take-offs, supplier quotations, and historical data. Prepare technical and commercial proposals for firefighting systems, including compliance statements, method statements, and value engineering options. Coordinate with procurement to obtain updated vendor/supplier quotations and technical data. Ensure compliance with relevant local and international codes (NFPA, Civil Defense, etc.). Identify and evaluate project risks and propose mitigation strategies. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client/consultant clarifications as needed. Support project handover to execution teams with clear documentation and scope understanding.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years

of experience in estimation of firefighting & Fire Alarm systems (or MEP in general).

Strong knowledge of firefighting & Fire Alarm system design, installation practices, and relevant codes (e.g., NFPA, local fire codes).

Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and firefighting system drawings.

Experience using AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software (e.g., CCS Candy, Plan swift) is preferred.

Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills.
