Estimation Engineer - Joinery / Fit-Out

Estimation Manager / General Manager

Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and quotations for joinery and fit-out projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and client requirements, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand the project scope. Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery works (e.g., doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall cladding, counters). Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ). Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, hardware, and finishes. Coordinate with production, procurement, and design teams to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions. Prepare technical and commercial proposals in compliance with tender requirements. Review and compare tender drawings with IFC and shop drawings to identify variations. Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Maintain cost databases for materials, labor, and fabrication times. Support value engineering efforts to optimize costs and design efficiency. Assist management in the negotiation and finalization of project pricing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. 3-7 years of experience in joinery or interior fit-out estimation. Strong knowledge of joinery materials, production processes, and finishes. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

Microsoft Excel

, and estimation software such as

PlanSwift

Bluebeam

, etc. Good understanding of UAE market rates and suppliers (if based in UAE). Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
