Evaluate and estimate costs for designing and installing control systems in commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates including hardware, software, installation, integration, labor, materials, and equipment.
Perform quantity take-offs and create bills of materials (BOMs).
Review project specifications, drawings, and system requirements to understand project scope.
Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and clients to define system requirements.
Provide technical input for HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management systems.
Compile proposals, quotations, and tenders; assist in RFP and RFQ responses.
Estimate project timelines and coordinate schedules with project managers.
Identify potential risks affecting project delivery and suggest mitigation measures.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material and equipment quotations.
Monitor project costs and suggest cost-saving measures while maintaining solution quality.
Prepare reports with cost breakdowns, system specifications, and maintain records of estimates and proposals.
Communicate with clients to present estimates, proposals, and provide tailored solutions.
Ensure all solutions comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
Stay updated on the latest BMS technologies, regulations, and industry trend
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics and communications/Instrumentation, or a related field.
Familiarity with Control components (controllers, sensors, HVAC systems, security systems, etc.).
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of BMS s/w & h/w incl SCADA systems control panels & energy management tools.
Proficient in estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Estimating software).
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, lighting control, and security systems integrated into BMS.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Requirements:
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Controls system estimation, project engineering, or a related field.
