Role Overview



We are seeking a

hands-on Estimator Engineer

with

3+ years of experience

in exhibitions and events who can

build accurate BOQs

, develop

technical specifications

, perform

structural load assessments/calculations

, and scope

AV/screens, lighting, interactive technologies, and MEP/services

. The role demands strong

costing acumen, negotiation skills

, and deep familiarity with

subcontractors and the supply chain

in the UAE/GCC market.

Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Costing



Prepare detailed

Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

for custom exhibition stands and event structures, covering joinery, metal, graphics, finishes, AV/LED screens, lighting, rigging, furniture, flooring, and logistics. Generate comprehensive

cost estimates, rate build-ups, and value-engineering options

aligned with client budgets and design intent. Maintain and update

cost databases

, vendor price lists, and benchmark rates.

Technical Specifications & Engineering



Produce/validate

technical specifications

for materials, finishes, joinery details, structural members, fasteners, and installation methodologies. Perform

structural calculations

(e.g., load-bearing, cantilever checks, platform loading, suspended elements/rigging loads) and coordinate with structural consultants as required. Specify

screens/AV systems

(LED tiles/pitch, pixel density, processors, playback, control),

lighting

(fixtures, DMX/DALI control), and

technology integrations

(interactive touch, sensors, basic show control). Coordinate

MEP requirements

(power loads, distribution, data, special services) with venues and organizers.

Tendering & Commercials



Review drawings (concept, schematic, IFC) and

extract quantities

; identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and clarifications. Prepare

tender submissions

, technical write-ups, and compliance matrices; respond to RFIs/RFQs and manage revisions. Conduct

vendor/subcontractor sourcing, bid leveling, and negotiations

to secure best value, quality, and lead times.

Supply Chain & Project Interface



Build and maintain a

robust supplier/subcontractor network

(joinery, steel, acrylics, printing, AV, rigging, electrics, scenic, flooring, graphics). Collaborate with

designers, project managers, and production

to align costs with buildability, timelines, and safety. Support

procurement planning

, long-lead item identification, and

cost control

through project execution.

Quality, Safety & Compliance



Ensure estimates meet

venue regulations

(e.g., rigging approvals, flame-retardant certifications) and

HSE requirements

. Recommend materials and construction methods that balance

aesthetics, safety, durability, and cost

.

Reporting & Tools



Produce

estimate summaries, cost breakdowns, and variance reports

with clear assumptions. Work in

AutoCAD

(or similar) for quantity take-offs; use

Excel

(advanced) for BOQs; familiarity with

estimating/ERP/CRM tools

is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in

Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering

, Architecture, or related discipline.

3+ years

in

exhibition stand/event production estimating

(UAE/GCC experience strongly preferred). Proven capability in

BOQ creation, technical specs, and basic structural calculations

for temporary structures. Exposure to

AV/LED, lighting, control systems, and show technologies

used in exhibitions. Strong network of

subcontractors and suppliers

across joinery, metal, graphics, AV, and site services. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

,

MS Excel (advanced)

; knowledge of

Revit/SolidWorks/SketchUp

is advantageous.
