Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to join our dynamic pre-contract team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of landscaping tenders and projects. You will play a critical role in our business development efforts by ensuring our bids are both profitable and compelling, leveraging your civil engineering expertise within the specific context of the UAE's landscaping market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tender Analysis & Preparation:

• Carefully analyze tender documents (RFP, BOQ, Drawings, Specifications, and Contract Conditions) to understand project scope, requirements, and potential risks.
• Identify and clarify ambiguities with consultants/clients through formal RFI (Request for Information) processes.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to assess existing conditions, logistics, and any potential challenges.

2. Quantity Take-off (QTO):

• Perform detailed and accurate quantity take-offs from landscaping drawings, hardscape drawings, irrigation designs, and MEP coordination layouts using AutoCAD and other measurement software.
• Calculate areas, volumes, and counts for all landscaping elements (earthworks, paving, planting, water features, irrigation, lighting, etc.).

3. Cost Estimation & Pricing:

• Source and solicit competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and labor.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct costs (materials, labor, equipment) and indirect costs (overheads, preliminaries, design costs).
• Apply accurate unit rates based on historical data, market rates, and project-specific conditions.
• Factor in costs related to UAE-specific requirements (e.g., permitting, agency approvals, DEWA/DMA connections, climate challenges).

4. Proposal Development:

• Compile all estimate components into a well-structured, professional proposal and tender submission.
• Prepare technical clarifications and assumptions to accompany the commercial proposal.
• Collaborate with the design and technical teams to develop value engineering options.

5. Post-Tender Activities:

• Participate in post-tender negotiations and clarifications with clients and consultants.
• Assist in the handover process from the pre-contract to the project execution team upon successful award.
• Maintain a database of tender pricing and outcomes for future reference and continuous improvement.

6. Database & Market Intelligence:

• Maintain and update a comprehensive cost database for materials, labor rates, and equipment hire specific to the UAE landscaping sector.
• Stay informed of market trends, material price fluctuations, and new products/technologies.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a reputed institute.
• 4 to 5 years of proven experience as an Estimation Engineer, specifically within the landscaping, irrigation, or external works industry in the UAE.
• In-depth knowledge of landscaping materials, horticultural practices, irrigation systems, and hardscape construction methods.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for viewing drawings and performing measurements.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and experience with estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, or similar).
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles relevant to earthworks, grading, drainage, and infrastructure.
