Key responsibilities
Analyze project documents:
Review tender documents, blueprints, specifications, and site reports to understand the full scope of concrete repair work.
Perform quantity take-offs:
Accurately measure and calculate the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for the project.
Cost estimation:
Develop detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Prepare bids and proposals:
Compile this information into competitive bids, quotations, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Source and evaluate subcontractors/suppliers:
Obtain and assess quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Technical support:
Assist the technical team in preparing method statements and technical proposals for bids.
Coordination:
Work with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather data and ensure estimates are complete and accurate.
Maintain knowledge:
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, new materials, and repair techniques.
Site visits:
Attend site visits to assess existing conditions and pre-bid meetings to discuss project details.
Record keeping:
Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, and historical project cost data for future reference.
Required skills and qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a specific focus on concrete repair or civil works.
Technical knowledge:
Familiarity with concrete deterioration issues and repair techniques (e.g., waterproofing, injection, FRP wrapping).
Software proficiency:
Proficiency in estimating software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Analytical skills:
Strong analytical and numerical abilities to ensure accuracy.
Attention to detail:

Communication:
