We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimation Engineer to join our expanding team. This role is critical to the commercial success of our interior fit-out and design projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior construction, materials, and market pricing, coupled with hands-on experience in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and bids.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to prepare precise and competitive cost estimates.
Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labor, and equipment specific to interior fit-out projects.
Work closely with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure consistency and feasibility in all estimating inputs.
Prepare and submit comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, including alternative solutions and value engineering options.
Source quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating to secure the best prices without compromising quality.
Evaluate tender scopes to identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities for cost savings.
Keep abreast of market trends and pricing fluctuations to maintain competitive and profitable estimates.
Participate in pre-tender meetings, client discussions, and presentations to support sales and project delivery teams.
Maintain and update a database of materials, subcontractors, and historical cost data to improve estimation accuracy.
Assist with project handovers and budget monitoring to ensure smooth transitions from estimation to execution phases.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
1-2 years of experience in interior fit-out or contracting estimation, preferably within the UAE market.
Strong knowledge of interior fit-out elements including ceilings, partitions, joinery, finishes, and MEP coordination.
Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software/tools; experience with AutoCAD, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam is a plus.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination across teams and with clients.
Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
