As a Mechanical Estimation Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the pre-contract phase of projects by preparing precise cost estimates for mechanical systems and equipment. You'll work closely with design engineers, procurement teams, and project managers to ensure that every bid we submit is both competitive and profitable.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and contracts to determine scope of work
Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical components, piping systems, HVAC, equipment installation, and more
Calculating material quantities, labor hours, equipment needs, and overhead costs
Evaluating vendor quotations and subcontractor bids
Identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender submissions, and supporting documentation
Maintaining updated cost databases, historical records, and benchmarking tools
Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mechanical estimation
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, equipment, and installation methods
Proficiency in estimation tools/software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, estimating software)
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Prior experience in preparing rate analysis, cost breakdowns, and tender documents is preferred
