Job Description

The Role

Lead and oversee the estimating department across multiple project bids or cost models. o Establish estimation procedures, standards, and templates for consistency and efficiency. o Provide high-level oversight and final approval for project budgets and cost estimates. o Collaborate with project managers, sales, engineering, procurement, and finance to ensure alignment. o Review historical data and market trends to improve estimation accuracy and competitiveness. o Analyze scope, drawings, specifications, and client requirements to create thorough bid packages. o Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and internal policies. o Mentor and train estimating staff; drive professional development within the team. o Interface with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to clarify project expectations and negotiate terms.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or related field. o 10-15 years of experience in cost estimation or preconstruction roles. o 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role. o Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software (e.g., CostX, WinEst, Bluebeam, RSMeans, Sage Estimating, etc.). o Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and cost control principles. o Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. o Analytical mindset with a high attention to detail.
