Software Engineer - IFS Specialist Join our IT team in Abu Dhabi Saab is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our IT team based in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will act as an administrator and architect of IFS systems, providing critical technical software support and driving successful implementations. Experience with IFS ERP Applications (versions 9, 10, or Cloud) is preferred. You will collaborate closely with Application Services and IT teams to ensure enterprise applications enable staff to achieve increased user adoption and improved operational efficiency. A broad, cross-departmental perspective and strong understanding of organizational policies and processes are essential to maximize system capabilities and support organizational goals.

Your Responsibilities

Administer and architect IFS ERP systems with a focus on technical software support and implementation

Act as liaison between functional users, vendors, Application Services, and IT teams

Provide application-level expertise to bridge user needs and technical support

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve system and application issues

Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, specifications, and test plans

Ensure audit and segregation of duties (SoD) compliance within IFS ERP

Lead integration development and maintenance connecting IFS with other enterprise applications

Support software installation, upgrading, and patching procedures

Maintain strong communication and collaboration with all stakeholders

Anticipate issues, exercise sound judgment, and take decisive action as needed

Mentor and guide junior team members when required

Skills & Experience

BacheloraEUR(TM)s or MasteraEUR(TM)s degree in Computer Science or related field

Minimum 5 yearsaEUR(TM) experience managing ERP systems, preferably IFS

Strong independent working ability with sound decision-making skills

Proven experience supporting multiple enterprise applications and collaborating across IT functions

Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems

Experience with Linux shell scripting (bash); Powershell and Windows command scripting is a plus

Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure is advantageous

Advanced backend knowledge of Oracle-based IFS ERP and debugging technical issues

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Experience with security and permissions management within IFS

Ability to maintain detailed documentation and compliance standards

Customer-service oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
