Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for Engineering Data System - Lead position to be based in Oman.

Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) only whilst exact opportunities are being fully determined.

Purpose Responsible for the maintenance, development, configuration, training, documentation and user support for the system in a contractor based environment for Greenfield and Brownfield project execution.

Technical Abilities Possesses solid knowledge / experience (multiple years) of SPI Domain Administration in the support of the system in an EPC environment executing both Greenfield and Brownfield projects. Exposure and experience with Oracle, C languages and Visual Basic would be most desirable. Possesses strong Instrument / Electrical design experience with a good understanding of instrument naming conventions including wiring, loops and control system tags. Has the ability to perform database maintenance including optimizing indexes, updating statistics and resizing of SPI tables with solid knowledge and experience in producing back-up files and export files in Watcom, CSV and Excel format. Competent in the SPI browser and capable of configuring / producing standard reports. Possesses broad onshore design experience with quality control / verification and validation, and awareness of fabrication techniques. Has knowledge of onshore oil and gas production facility design standards / specifications. Has the ability to effectively interface with multiple communities, including project management, discipline engineers and designers, 3rd party contractors, vendors etc. Has knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft products (such as Word, Excel, Access,PowerPoint etc.). Has complete understanding of FEED and detail design in Greenfield and Brownfield deliverables for Onshore projects. Responsibiliies Understands the scope of projects and has the capability to manage and support users in the creation of deliverables from the SPI system. Ensure Quality Management System requirements are met in line with ISO 9001-2015/ API Q2 2nd Ed.. Works closely with the EDS Supervisor for forecasting and scheduling of man-hours, quality control of users of the system for project execution, as building and handover to operations and Maintenance. Recommends, designs and implements work process improvements where appropriate within the confines of the PDO FEED Office environment. Is aware of industry leading technology trends and applications. Skills / Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications required Requires certification from a recognized technical institution in the field of Instrument / electrical design or IT DB management with a minimum of 5 years experience in applying fulltime SPI Administration skills to upstream oil and gas projects with experience in the Operations and Maintenance and major capital project environments. Is proficient in SPI, 2D CAD systems with at least 5 years of industry discipline related CAD design experience (electrical and or instrumentation). Engineering degree / diploma or equivalent time based application experience Working and delivering in a multi-cultural environment.

Position description - Special Challenges Is familiar with a variety of the IM discipline's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks with minimal supervision. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Demonstrate repeatability and constant improvement. Develop / share best practices, work processes, system and tools knowledge, based on experience gained in a portfolio of independent projects internally and externally to PDO. Work effectively with diverse, multi-cultural teams, peers, stakeholders and customers. Projects can sometimes be executed in remote locations in various countries. So maintaining a good relationship with the client is critical to the success of the project and sometimes requires visits to the site/work share and/or client office. Be a team player where recognition of team performance as a whole is a greater priority than projecting individual contribution. Be able to work in a team environment and manage multiple project responsibilities. Make sure all appropriate assurance reviews have been conducted for project handover and as building to the operations and Maintenance environment.
