Our client, a global management consulting firm, is well-known for their risk and financial services advisory practices in the Middle East region. Currently, they are working on implementing new regulations for the banking and non-banking financial institutions based on the mandate from the regional regulatory authority. Thus they are looking for a dynamic senior enterprise risk manager with relevant work experience and skills in the enterprise and financial risk management domain to join them. This is a client-facing role and the incumbent will advise clients on enterprise risk management aspects, focusing on financial risk. The candidate is expected to demonstrate high technical and managerial expertise as he will manage a team of 2-3 executives. Below are the key job responsibilities typically associated with this role:Financial Risk:
Implementing the Credit Risk rating model & IFRS 9 ECL models.
Review, validation, and enhancement credit rating models for project finance portfolios and IFRS 9 ECL models
Development and compliance of model management and model validation policies
Developing/reviewing and enhancing models and approaches for stress testing and internal capital adequacy
Understanding risk-adjusted performance assessment of the business, areas, product types, and risk-based pricing framework.
Understanding of market and liquidity risk management in financial institutions
Enterprise Risk:
Development and implementation of a risk appetite framework with tolerance Limits for the key risks.
Periodic review, monitoring, and reporting of the Risk Appetite to ensure it is cascaded within the organization.
Review and study risk-return relationships and analysis for the client\xe2\x80\x99s portfolios and conduct strategic business reviews. Participate in supporting risk analysis to facilitate risk-informed decisions.
Periodically review risk policies, procedures, reporting templates, and frameworks to ensure everything is aligned with the process.
Provide guidance to business teams and the risk management department on aspects related to the management of enterprise and financial risk and ensure that the frameworks and methodologies align with the leading practices and regulatory landscape.
Development, raising awareness of, and implementing the Risk Culture across organisation. Developing diversified training based on the diversification of risk types and beneficiaries\xe2\x80\x99 levels
Skills Requirement:
Specialised in financial services advisory and risk analytics
Grasp of Risk Management concepts, particularly BASEL guidelines
Strong experience implementing the Credit Risk rating model & IFRS 9 ECL models
Experience in end-to-end financial risk modelling, stress testing, credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk assessment and optimisation
Consulting background or experience with leading consulting firms and development bank experience is preferable
Good managerial skills, excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to hold his ground, manage the expectations of the client
Qualifications:
MBA (Finance) from a leading business school OR
Professional qualification (Chartered Accountancy) OR
Bachelors in quantitative disciplines (Math/Statistics, Science, Engineering)
Certifications like FRM and CFA would enhance the overall candidature
