Role Overview
We are looking for experienced, passionate people to join our global presales team at a time of growth in cloud networks and global managed services. Telecom and Technology is the IT Services division within NCR providing Customer Services across the globe. We design and deliver global field and managed services include enterprise networking, cloud networks (SD-WAN/NFV), wireless and optical networks. We offer a flexible working environment with a mix of home working, onsite customer meetings, excellent office facilities and the use of collaborative technology. This is a great opportunity to join NCR at a time of further investment in our Telecom and Technology division.
This will be Customer facing pre-sales role with technical capability, large scale service design and ITIL thinking. We are also looking for people with a strong technical background who can apply technical thinking to our service transformation journeys with Clients.
This role will be focused on presales leadership for our large, global strategic accounts. This role is about taking a holistic and consultative approach with our largest customers and act a role model to the wider team.
Our customers need trusted advisors that can advise them from a technical viewpoint how to transform their Networking Solutions and Services. There may be some close co-ordination with technical teams but the role is primarily focused on technical presales so that we can provide transformational thinking to our clients on their Network environment and then deliver a range of services to design, support and manage those environments with NCR and partner capabilities. You will work in close partnership with other Service Architects and Sales.
Location
  • To be close to our customers this role will be virtual in Dubai.
  • Travel can be 20 - 40% of the role but may vary (currently subject to covid-19 restrictions).
Essential criteria

  • Customer facing experience in a global or regional network architect design role including presales (bids), hands on technical experience, cost model and contract expertise
  • Experience working on large strategic customer accounts as a technical architect and trusted advisor
  • Knowledge of cloud-based orchestration platforms and policy management
  • Experience in explaining how technology services can solve business problems and help achieve business strategy
  • Strong understanding of cloud and digital concepts with an interest in market trends
  • Customer facing experience in a global or regional service design role including presales, managed service frameworks, commercial and contract expertise

Industry and Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of cloud and digital concepts with an interest in market trends
  • Clearly understands the fourth industrial revolution in which disruptive technologies and trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) are changing the way our Customers work
  • Experience in evangelising network resilience and transformation with an orientation towards innovation
  • Experience and strong familiarly with multiple world leading network vendors such as: Cisco, HP networking, Juniper, Velocloud, Silverpeak, Versa and Nokia Nuage
  • Knowledge of cloud-based orchestration platforms and policy management
  • Knowledge of hosting technologies including Windows and Linux based server hosts, network-based storage and common data centre infrastructure
  • Able to see and articulate the big picture across a large strategic account to leverage ideas and efficiencies in our processes and proposals
  • Can demonstrate how technology services can drive improvements in the customer experience
  • Experience in evangelising service capabilities with an orientation towards innovation at executive level
Technical Experience
Experience must include Cisco, and an ability to work across a range of different technologies from an integrated network and infrastructure perspective, example relevant technologies are detailed below:
  • Track record working with virtual teams including technical architects, professional services, engineers, project management, ops and service management
  • Can create an enterprise network roadmap for a customer and deliver tangible pipeline opportunities through those future state discussions
  • Experience working with sales teams to evangelise about enterprise networks especially new cloud-based network technologies
  • Can demonstrate taking the lead on multiple presales engagements simultaneously for large customers finding ways to drive repeatability and innovation
  • Experience in building complex cost models for design and implementation projects and innovating to refine the cost base
  • Work closely with bid finance and pricing analysts to create detailed project pricing
  • Experience of working closely with large technology vendors to plan the hardware and software required for a bid or project
  • Understanding of contracts such as Statements of Work to detail what will be delivered in a technical project
  • At minimum experience working on deals in the range of $5million to $20million+
  • Significant experience working with PS / engineer implementation teams
  • Working with sales help to qualify new opportunities, managing sales and customer expectations on what we can deliver
  • Deliver a well-defined set of technical HLD documents in a timely manner
  • Can produce LLD\xe2\x80\x99s or manage other professionals and guide them to produce LLD\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Can perform network troubleshooting with industry standard tools to isolate and diagnose common network problems that support the need for transformation
  • Can lead virtual teams and be hands on in large network transformation projects
  • Create technical elements of a bid review presentation to help senior internal stakeholders make decisions
  • Maintain informal and formal relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Can take the initiative on producing new content including design documents, proposals and presales slide materials

Architect and Services Experience
  • Track record leading virtual teams including service architects, professional services, engineers, project management, ops and service management
  • Can create an enterprise roadmap for a customer and deliver tangible opportunities through those future state discussions
  • Deep understanding of managed services, global service desks and ITIL concepts
  • Strong experience in global field services, large scale installation & support services
  • Experience designing global and/or multi-region services
  • Understanding of ITSM platforms and remote monitoring toolsets
  • Can explain the business value of managed services to a customer
  • Experience working with sales leaders & teams to evangelise about services
  • Can demonstrate taking the lead on multiple presales engagements simultaneously for large strategic accounts finding ways to drive repeatability and innovation
  • Experience in building complex cost models and innovating to refine the cost base, maximise profit and design services that delight our customers

Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge and design experience of IP4, Ip6, CPE QoS, IPSEC, MPLS VPN and Internet connectivity
