We are seeking an Engineering Lead - Systems and Rolling Stock as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH UAE Branch.
In your role, you will be providing support to the DB E&C team on site in UAE and in Oman. You will have a multifaceted role encompassing both Management of Rail Systems and Rolling Stock issues. This position combines the critical responsibilities of ensuring the smooth integration of railway systems, infrastructure, and rolling stock while overseeing the procurement, design, installation/ manufacturing, testing and putting into operation of rail systems and rolling stock. Responsibilities:
Coordinate and control all project activities related to Rail Systems and Rolling Stock, managing interfaces between various working packages for railway systems and infrastructure, rolling stock manufacturers, the future Rail Operator, and other stakeholders
Prepare and monitor the Project Execution Plan, the Programme Management Plan, and other relevant Project\xe2\x80\x99s management plans and documents, for the disciplines related to Rail Systems and Rolling Stock
Manage, provide guidance and coordinate between the various Client\xe2\x80\x99s contractors all activities related to project management, design review, site supervision, testing and commissioning of Rail systems and Rolling stock as well as their interfaces to other disciplines
Manage, coordinate and monitor the design review process as well as activities related to change requests/variations/claims in terms of Rail systems and Rolling stock
Establish and maintain a systematic, documented, comprehensive, and verifiable systems integration and interface management process for the entire project
Oversee the integration of all system interfaces, rail systems and rolling stock modifications with existing systems or vehicles to ensure compatilibility, proper integration with other systems, equipment, and data
Collaborate with other disciplines and suppliers to configure systems for all project aspects, including rolling stock
Provide guidance to the engineering team to meet technical requirements and schedules
Lead project design reviews, approve design documentation, and identify and propose solutions for design issues
Ensure risk management for all issues related to rail systems and rolling stock as well as their interfaces with other disciplines
Lead, assist, and participate in general meetings on-site, internal discussions, telephone conferences, and team meetings with client, governmental authorities, certifying bodies, other stakeholders, etc.
Ensure operation readiness of Rail systems and Rolling Stock, liaising with key stakeholders to secure an orderly and successful system handover
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as necessary
Submit periodic reports (weekly dashboards, monthly progress reports, etc.) to the Project Director and/or the Client as specified
Qualifications:
University degree, preferably a Master\'s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
A minimum of 15 years of experience in Railway Projects, with at least 10 years of design and construction experience in Rail Projects work experience in the GCC region would be expedient
Previous experience in the design and integration of rail electrical and mechanical systems, signalling, telecommunication, train control, and rolling stock
Knowledge of state-of-the-art in railway signalling, telecommunication and rolling stock
Proven experience in interface management, systems integration, and testing and commissioning processes
Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and schematic diagrams, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Applications, MS Teams, and Share Point Online
Excellent written and verbal English communication, public speaking and presentation skills
Strong understanding of European and North American railway standards
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
