At Jacobs, we push the limits of what is possible to make the world smarter and more connected. For the Etihad Rail project that means delivering new passenger rolling stock. This is a transformational project for the United Arab Emirates and the wider gulf region. As a Rolling Stock Engineer, you will work as an integrated member of our rolling stock team. You will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities. This is a 12-month fixed term role. You will be reporting to the Rolling Stock Lead, based in Abu Dhabi, and travel to other countries will be required from time to time. You will be experienced in design reviews, or manufacturing and or maintenance of various sub-systems of a diesel multi-unit passenger rolling stock or similar type of rolling stock. Your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Review design documentation produced by rolling stock suppliers for compliance with contract specifications, requirements, and international standards.
  • Coordinate design review activities with the rolling stock supplier and other Design and Build Contract packages.
  • Coordinate activities for the development of interfaces between the rolling stock and other Design and Build Contract packages.
  • Coordinate rolling stock system assurance activities with other system assurance works.
  • Manage requirements management compliance through requirements management tool.
  • Participate and or lead technical discussions with Supplier.
  • Prepare and issue Minutes of Meetings.


Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:
As a successful candidate you will have:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering (either Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in rolling stock, ideally including experience with diesel multi-unit passenger rolling stock.
  • Strong knowledge of key subsystems (HVAC, Traction, Brake Systems, onboard Signalling).
  • Good Knowledge and management of design reviews, and Systems Assurance.
  • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance and failure analysis.
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong written and spoken English
