Job Description

User Experience (UX) Research & Strategy:

Perform comprehensive user research and stakeholder interviews to identify real-world machine interaction challenges.


Craft detailed user journeys, task analyses, and persona development to inform interface requirements.


Advocate for usability and accessibility best practices tailored to industrial IoT environments.

User Interface (UI) Design & Architecture

Produce wireframes, prototypes, and mockups for control panels, dashboards, and embedded systems.


Select suitable technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Qt) for rendering real-time data visualizations.


Maintain consistent design guidelines and ensure responsiveness across different devices and environments.

Usability Assurance (UA) & Testing Automation

Establish clear success metrics for performance, user satisfaction, and reliability in industrial settings.


Develop both automated and manual testing scenarios to validate system behavior under various operational conditions (load, stress, fault tolerance).


Continuously refine interface designs based on analytics, feedback, and field evaluations.

IoT Integration & Process Control

Collaborate on system architecture to define communication protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus) and data handling for industrial IoT solutions.


Integrate sensor data with user-facing control panels to enable real-time monitoring and adjustments.


Verify that equipment parameters (e.g., PLCs and SCADA systems) are accurately visualized and easily configurable through the UI.

Data Security & Compliance

Incorporate robust security measures (e.g., TLS encryption) in UI designs to safeguard industrial data streams.


Liaise with compliance teams to ensure adherence to pertinent standards (ISO, IEC) and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Documentation

Maintain thorough technical documentation covering interface architecture, testing frameworks, and workflow integrations.


Coordinate project reviews with engineering, QA, and executive teams to ensure alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.


Prepare progress updates, presentations, and system demonstrations for key stakeholders.

Qualification:

Education

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.

Professional Experience

+ At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, industrial automation, or similar roles involving IoT systems.
+ Track record of delivering user-focused interfaces for embedded or real-time systems.
+ Exposure to OT environments, PLC programming concepts, or SCADA/ICS systems is highly valued.
