Job Purpose
Carry out a variety of reservoir engineering studies, analysis and synthesis on data obtained from well test and well production/injection history, in order to devise reservoir parameters to help in understanding reservoir behaviors and ensure optimum recovery.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
Carry out detailed analysis on data obtained from well and field tests in order to define well and reservoir parameters, such as reservoir permeability, reservoir pressure, formation damage, well productivity and injectivity index.
Participate in the preparation of reservoir tests, production logging and sampling requirements. Devise well testing design, including gauge specifications, flowing/injection period and shut-in time.
Participates in preparation of updated development plans for the assigned field to optimize recovery and suggests remedial actions such as workovers, stimulation to improve recovery.
Coordinates with Geology, Production and Drilling engineers and participates in drawing up drilling and completion programs for all wells and recommends to supervisor necessary workovers, coring, logging, production/injection tests,
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)
Provide Reservoir Engineering inputs for Delineation, Development, Appraisal & Workover Well Prognosis.
Draws up reservoir monitoring Bar Chart and monitors well performance on daily basis through feedback information from operating divisions, compares the actual achievement against planned targets, discusses operational problems and recommends remedial actions and detects deviations.
To be able to generate a quick economic model to predict economical outlook for any CFDP or FDP.
Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 3)
Participate in studies designed to improve well testing interpretation methods to be available in the Company .
Participate in studies aimed at deriving oil production and water/gas injection rates necessary for oil production to conform to specified constraints such as limitations of gas/oil ratio, water/oil ratio and reservoir pressures by evaluating updated production/injection performance plots.
Carry out certain studies based on the derived test results and the application of other reservoir engineering techniques (e.g. isobaric maps, isopermeability maps).
Carry out some simulation model studies particularly using models transferred to the reservoir management section to utilize these as an effective monitoring tool.
Conducts studies, as assigned, to predict future reservoir performance. Includes evaluating alternative allocations of production/injection wells, optimum rates of recovery per well and the entire field plans.
