JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate as a part of a team of Cost Engineers in the preparation of:
Project budgets
Periodic Forecast
Monthly cost and variance reports
Monthly Sales and Cost Accruals to Finance for month end closing
Cost optimization initiatives
Act as POC for budget for PMs/PDs
Provide input to Estimators on actual cost for future estimate
Understand and analyze all project cost estimates including material, personnel and equipment costs and coordinatewith the proposals and the project engineers to clarify on any discrepancies.
Create a process of information flow with respect to each expense head, such as Equipment procurement,Logistics costs, Mobilization and demobilization of personnel, Material procurement and any other relevant costs.
Monitor costs and generate variance reports as and when required and forward to the Project Managers/Project Director for his perusal. Carry out assessment of potential variations/claims from sub-contractors as well as othervendors.
Submit reports on a periodic basis to the project management on the status of the costs incurred and thevariations of the budgeted v/s actual.
Assist in preparation of monthly internal and client cost reports.
Participate in project review meetings and provide any cost related data as and when required by themembers.
Interface and provide clarification and guidance to the project engineers and Accounts and provide assistance wherever required.
Provide monthly Sales and Cost Accrual to Finance team for monthly closing .
Perform related duties as and when directed by Direct Supervisor.
Assist in preparation of Monthly invoices to client.
Ensure that all reports are generated in compliance with HSE standards.
Leads the activities in ensuring that costs of projects do not exceed the budgeted value by bringing to
attention as and when it occurs and take corrective action in conjunction with the project management team.
Decision Making Authority
Decisions limited to generating relevant reports for effective cost management of projects. Consults with
supervisor on key issues.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
8 years as Cost Engineers with Oil and Gas Contracting Company
Experience in
lumpsum Operations, Maintenance projects
Engineering Projects
PMC Projects
Strong commercial/financial acumen
Strong communication skills
Team player and ability and confidence to work with senior level in the organisation Bachelor of Engineering/ Finance/Commercial
