Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Implements Corrosion Monitoring Programme in the refinery process units, performs analysis and assessments on Refinery Static Assets as assigned for Corrosion and Metallurgical issues using up to date methods & techniques of non-destructive examination as required by the referencing codes. Maintains up to date corrosion review records, coordinates with other Department personnel, organize and follows-up monitoring and mitigative activities. Involves in the planning, scheduling and execution of corrosion monitoring and testing jobs, and foresees future requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities . Implement and sustain consistent Corrosion Management Strategy for Refinery Process Unit Static Equipment as assigned. . Review the operating conditions to assess and monitor corrosive condition and evaluated the material performance in all corrosive systems. Conduct corrosion monitoring and corrosion control for the plant's equipment, storage tanks and pipelines to insure integrity and reliability. . Reviews and evaluates Project Relates issues for Corrosion and Metallurgical Aspects. . Reviews and evaluates MOC Related issues for corrosion and Metallurgical Aspects . Prepares periodic corrosion report and maintains updated information and data. . Carry out detailed review of all units to define the corrosion loops and carries out detailed study to meet the requirements of integrity evaluation.

. Work closely with Inspection Engineer for issues related to corrosion. . Knows the company's HSE policies, procedures, regulations and objectives and ensures that they are effectively implemented and incorporated in all work activities . Supports and participates in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) assessments as applicable and provide required inputs. . Supports and acts as Technical resource for all corrosion and metallurgical aspects in the assigned Refinery Process Units and support inspection, Process, Operations and Maintenance functions with required Technical Support. . Act as focal point for coordination with all related Inspection and Corrosion function for smooth delivery of Inspection and Corrosion services in assigned Refinery Process Units. . Leads and carried out RCA, Failure Investigations as appropriate, including Material analysis, hardness testing etc as and when required. In case of discrepancy, ensures all validations are properly performed prior to reporting any issues.

Generic Accountabilities Supervision . Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area of PTOD, to meet functional objectives. . Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets . Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives. . Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures . Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards. . Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management . Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement . Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. . Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability . Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices

Reports . Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal . Assigned Supervisor to provide information and reports, and receive directions.

. Concerned personnel in technical services, major projects, procurement, contracts, etc. normally at Section Leader Level, to share information and coordinate work.

External . Consultants and specialised research centres during project work and failure investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

. Bachelor Degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other equivalent disciplines.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge . 9 years of experience of Corrosion and Inspection functions in petroleum refineries, chemical process plants, or petrochemical plants. . Experience in Refinery Process units is required.

Skills . Good command on MS Office and Computer skills. . Fully conversant with relevant NACE, API, ASTM, ASME & TEMA standards / codes. . Very good knowledge of oral & written English. Knowledge of Arabic is added advantage.

Professional Certifications . Preferably certified with NACE Corrosion Qualifications . Preferably certified in all or any of API 510, 570, 580
