Senior Digital Project Manager

Reports to:
Group Operations Manager

Direct reports:
Digital Project Managers and/or Digital Operation Executives depending on portfolio(s) allocated.

The Role

The Senior Digital Project Manager is responsible for the professional end-to-end digital operational delivery of tech enabled events and online events for their allocated portfolio(s). You will ensure that all are delivered to the highest possible standards via third party SaS platforms, to the satisfaction of all parties involved consistently throughout the year.

In collaboration with the Group Operations Managers, you will be responsible for the resourcing and scheduling of the Digital events amongst team members within your allocated portfolio. The Senior Digital Project Manager will be responsible for gathering the event teams' requirements for the allocated digital or hybrid tech enabled events following the onboarding process by understanding their strategy and commercial OKRs, key components of the digital event fulfilment (in-person and online) and building the Smartsheet project plan for the event to meet these needs whilst simultaneously managing digital operation elements within the target operating model.

You will manage line reports on a day-to-day basis, each of these may be allocated across multiple event portfolios throughout the year requiring you to effectively balance workloads & priorities for each team member individually.

It is expected that you will personally lead & deliver the digital operations on an agreed number of shows and online events. The Senior Digital Operations Manager should lead by example and always demonstrate professional responsibility to the department, confidently communicating on all levels internally and externally.

The Senior Digital Project Manager will train and mentor the team to become platform 'experts' supporting teams to learn & utilize the pre-determined EMEA suite of available platforms to their fullest capacity.



Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Personally lead & deliver the digital operations on an agreed number of shows per year as well as complete oversight and management of the operations on your allocated portfolio of events. Having a strong foundation working with SaS event management platforms to drive in person events through web and app-based tools.
  • Be a key point of digital operations contact for the show teams in all matters on your allocated shows, internal and external.
  • Partner with the Group Operation Manager and EMEA Product Management team to establish excellent service & meet stakeholder expectations to support Digital acceleration objectives.
  • Accountability for setting, regular forecasting & achieving digital operational show budgets within allocated portfolio of events.
  • Gather the event team's platform requirements for the event, understanding their strategy, key components for sponsorship fulfilment and so on and building the project plan for the event to fit these needs.
  • Ensure all allocated events are always working within the company's digital sustainability guidelines and complete and submit a digital fundamentals workbook for each event.
  • Ensure all digital and product operational tasks are carried out on a timely basis according to individual project plans and within deadlines across all your events. This includes keeping the delivery team accountable throughout the planning cycle which ranges from groups of 5 - 40.
  • Ensuring all events & line reports are working within an agile framework using the Digital Operations target model.
  • Compile event reports and KPI analysis on each event at the end of cycle.
  • Management and implementation of internal and external Service Level Agreements which are primarily event management SaS platforms and Video Production providers.
  • Adhere to all Informa compliance requirements and monitor direct report & supplier performance accordingly to ensure they do likewise.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Management
  • Work with your allocated Show Teams in gathering the event team's tech enabled Exhibitions and digital event requirements - understanding their strategy, key components for digital fulfilment - ensuring the project plan fits these needs.
  • Completing digital event reports, corrective actions and KPI analysis on each event at the end of cycle.
  • Manage, mentor & develop line reports aiding retention thus ensuring the team is maintained at optimum levels.
  • Setting, monitoring & management of direct reports' performance objectives, career development planning and setting long term personal goals.
  • Ongoing monitoring and management of performance for all line reports according to company standards always.
  • Regular & effective 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports, Group Operations Manager, members of the Product Management Team and any other key stakeholders to ensure accurate planning and strategic direction maximising operational performance.
  • Share best practice examples with other teams to enhance their capabilities and to create a more consistent for a Tech enabled 'Informa experience'.
  • Monitor best practice in other companies and at industry events and bring your insights to Informa to keep us ahead of the competition.
Show-specific tasks
  • Personal responsibility for the technical operational delivery & management of several events in the year working as the allocated Operations Manager.
  • Accountability for your own and your direct reports, production, communication, and implementation of individual show project plans ensuring all tasks are carried out on a timely basis & within deadlines set.
  • Attendance & contribution to kick offs, retrospect and at (offsite) event strategy days upon request.
  • Post event KPI Reporting and analysis with ability to set objectives for team members to improve service delivery YOY.
  • Providing information for assessment collating suitable reports & dashboards for use for SMT decision making.
Qualifications

Qualities needed for the role
  • Knowledge and experiences in digital event marketing, staying abreast of the latest product developments and trends in the digital events/marketing field.
  • Must have independently and successfully managed digital operations on multiple events to a consistently high standard.
  • Experience of managing, supporting & developing multiple line reports simultaneously.
  • You will possess a good working knowledge of the exhibition industry & and invested interest in digital events, SaS event management tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others, thinking outside the box for creative solutions.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and/or put contingency plans in place.
  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines, with attention to detail under pressure is a prerequisite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel / work across differing time zones especially within the EMEA region.
