Job Description

Role Summary:

The Electrician - Service/Site will be responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites, project locations, and company facilities. The role involves supporting HVAC electrical panels, equipment wiring, field troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe and high-quality workmanship at all times.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

Install, wire, and connect electrical panels (AHU, FCU, VFD, starters, duct heaters, etc.). Carry out site electrical installations including cables, conduits, trunking, and termination work. Assist in commissioning of electrical control panels and HVAC units. Ensure installations follow approved drawings and electrical standards.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform electrical troubleshooting for control panels, motors, VFDs, duct heaters, sensors, and field wiring. Diagnose faults such as short circuits, overload issues, relay failures, and control circuit problems. Carry out preventive maintenance at customer sites. Provide quick and effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.

3. Service Support

Attend customer service calls and resolve electrical complaints. Coordinate with service engineers and supervisors for task updates. Prepare basic service reports after completion of work. Ensure customer satisfaction through quality workmanship.

4. Safety & Compliance

Follow all company safety rules, electrical safety codes, and site requirements. Use proper PPE and ensure safe working practices at all times. Report unsafe conditions, electrical hazards, or damaged components immediately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and issues identified. Provide daily/weekly updates to the site supervisor or project engineer. Assist in testing and inspection procedures.

6. Additional Responsibilities

Support production team as required for wiring and assembly of panels. Travel to various sites as per business needs. Perform any other tasks assigned by management. Flexible to work extended hours during urgent service calls.

Skills & Competencies Required

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, control circuits, and motor starters (DOL, Star-Delta, VFD). Experience with HVAC equipment wiring is an added advantage. Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. Hands-on skills in troubleshooting electrical faults.

Behavioral Skills

Good communication and customer-handling skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage site challenges. Team player, punctual, and responsible. Self-motivated with a positive work attitude.
