Main Duties/Description:

1. To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
2. To attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel Training as scheduled and other related activities.
3. To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by Engineering Manager.
4. To handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
5. To handle and treat all matters of a confidential nature, oral or written with tact and discretion.
6. In accordance with the situation or if instructed by the Entity\xe2\x80\x99s General Manager as agreed with the Employee, perform functions not stipulated in his job description in line with the Internal Work Rules and effective labour legislation.
7. To fulfill and act on oral and/or written assignments, tasks, instructions and orders of the immediate supervisor, Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering.
8. Replaced burned out and defective fluorescent tubes and light bulbs; replace burned out ballasts, broken light switches, duplex receptacles, plates, and other plug receptacles.
9. Estimate type and quantity of materials and equipment required to complete project and order materials, if needed.
10. May train as well as oversee the work of others who assist in completing a project.
11. Maintain records of work activities and materials used.
12. Maintain records and write reports.
13. Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
14. Estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as required.
15. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
16. The ability to clean all stations in Engineering and maintain a neat and organized department.
17. The ability to respond to all guest complaints regarding the maintenance of their room or public area in a timely manner.
18. The ability to assist in performing preventive maintenance in guestrooms and public areas.
19. The ability to repair an assortment of items brought to the shop by other departments.
20. The ability to assist shift engineers on major shut downs for repairs.
21. The ability to maintain logs for all work performed while on duty within department and those in other departments as they apply to Engineering Repairs.
22. The ability to assist in installing or relocating any additional or existing equipment when necessary.
23. The ability to respond to work orders or room inspection reports submitted by Department Heads.
24. The ability to respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
25. The ability to report any damages observed within the Resort area, whether it be guestroom, public areas or any employee housing units through the Engineering reporting systems in place. Reporting to be done within one hour of discovery.
26. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
27. The ability to assist in providing electrical repair and maintenance to motors, starters, breakers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
28. The ability to maintenance and re-lamping of all lamps in the hotel and assist in socket repair and replacement.
29. The ability to assist in installing electrical wiring for renovations, electrical outlet additions, motors and associated equipment.
30. The ability to assist in providing electrical set-ups for exhibits and conventions including maintaining electrical equipment for exhibits.
31. The ability to assist in providing preventive maintenance of all electrical/mechanical equipment and updating of appropriate logs.

Standard Duties:

1. To provide a friendly and professional service that always exceeds guests\xe2\x80\x99 expectations.
2. To respond to any changes in the Engineering department function as dictated by the hotel.
3. To be available to be cross trained in other areas of the hotel.
4. The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.
5. The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.
6. The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragements as needed.
7. To ensure you read the hotel\'s employee handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel\'s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
8. To undertake other duties and responsibilities which, while outside the normal routine, are within the overall scope of the position.
9. To report for duty punctually wearing professional attire. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department personal appearance standards.
10. To comply with local legislation as required.
11. To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments through working by The Golden Rule.
12. To respond to any changes in the division as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
13. To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
14. Conduct and attend training sessions as outlined.
15. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering.
