The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical systems across large-scale MEP projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments in the UAE. This role requires strong expertise in electrical engineering, market pricing, and local project standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems.
Quantify electrical materials and labor requirements based on project documentation.
Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive prices for materials and services.
Assess project risks, technical specifications, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and deadlines.
Collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, and procurement to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution plans.
Conduct value engineering exercises and recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
Stay updated with industry standards, local authority regulations (DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Building Code, etc.), and market trends.
Participate in post-tender clarifications and negotiations with clients and consultants.
Support project handover activities and provide cost analysis for ongoing and completed projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of electrical estimation experience in the UAE construction market, preferably within MEP contracting companies.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems including LV, ELV, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and related disciplines.
Familiarity with UAE local authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, Dubai Building Code).
Proficient in estimation software such as CCS Candy, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and AutoCAD.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
