Job Summary:

The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for creating accurate and detailed electrical drawings, plans, and schematics in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The role involves close coordination with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure timely and precise documentation for projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and develop electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar). Produce as-built drawings, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules. Collaborate with electrical engineers and project teams to interpret design requirements and specifications. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and company guidelines. Revise and update drawings based on project changes, site inspections, and engineering instructions. Maintain organized documentation of electrical drawings and revisions for future reference. Assist in preparation of project submittals, including drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation. Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, structural) to ensure integrated design solutions. Support site teams with clarifications, interpretations, and drawing-related guidance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field. Proven experience as an Electrical Draftsman in engineering or consulting firms. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software. Knowledge of electrical codes, standards (IEC, NEC, BS), and industry best practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred:

Experience in lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, or low-voltage systems. Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM coordination.

Work Environment:

Office-based with occasional site visits to review layouts and coordinate with construction teams.
