Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and clear electrical drawings and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software, collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure the designs meet technical standards and project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Produce detailed technical drawings and diagrams related to the installation and repair of electrical equipment and wiring systems for various projects. Develop specifications and provide clear installation instructions for voltage transformers, cables, switchgear, and associated electrical systems. Convert conceptual designs into detailed plans using CAD software and other drafting tools. Create accurate two-dimensional and three-dimensional renderings of project designs. Design, revise, and update wiring plans, layout diagrams, and schematics based on input from engineers and project teams. Adhere to project schedules and ensure all drawings meet project specifications and formatting standards. Visit project or installation sites to gather data, perform field measurements, and prepare rough sketches as needed. Coordinate with internal departments including engineering, construction, and procurement to facilitate successful project execution. Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior draftsmen and support staff. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or project lead.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or certification in CAD drafting (Electrical discipline preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in construction or industrial projects. Proficient in AutoCAD with comprehensive knowledge of tools, commands, and advanced drafting options. Skilled in creating detailed technical drawings with a strong understanding of electrical systems and standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant design/drafting software. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
