Job Description

Job Summary: Responsible for creating electrical wiring, layout drawings and schematic diagrams for electrical devices. Job Responsibilities:

• Draft working drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring connection or cross-sections of underground cables, as required for instructions.
• Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are then checked by an engineer.
• Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design details.
• Draft technical details.
• Check dimensions of materials to be used
• Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Create visual guidelines for construction purposes.
• Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.
• Create and store drawings electronically.
• Prepare drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
• Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.

Job requirements & Skills:

• 8 to 10 years of experience
• General knowledge of electrical circuits and schematics.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, as well as general knowledge of generating facilities, power substations and protection and control schemes.
• Design skills, including the development of detail design drawings from engineering guidelines and sketches.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling skills for electrical systems.
• Auto Cad/Revit proficiency.
• Able to interface with electrical engineering and manufacturing on specific project assignments.
• Innovative self-starter, able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal and external customer issues which may be critical, sensitive, moderately complex, or urgent in nature.
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Problem solving mentality.
• High sense of responsibility.
