Job Summary
The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate electrical drawings and layouts in accordance with project specifications, approved standards, and coordination requirements. The role supports the engineering and site teams by producing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and design details for electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings based on approved IFC drawings, specifications, and standards.
Develop drawings for:
Power and lighting systems
LV/MV cable routing and containment (tray, trunking, conduit)
Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Panel schedules and load schedules
Coordinate electrical drawings with other disciplines (civil, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting).
Revise drawings based on consultant/client comments and site conditions.
Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards (IEC, BS, NEC) and authority requirements.
Maintain drawing registers and proper document control.
Support material take-offs and quantity calculations if required.
Assist engineers with technical drawings and project documentation.
Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
Familiar with electrical symbols, standards, and drafting practices.
