To produce precise electrical drawings and documentation for offshore installations (platforms, FPSOs, subsea systems), ensuring compliance with international standards and seamless integration with other disciplines.
Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting:
Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing layouts, and termination details using AutoCAD Electrical
Preparation of Equipment layouts
Prepare lighting/earthing layouts, JB schedules, and cable tray/trench details
Generate hook-up drawings and installation drawings for offshore installations
3D Modeling & Coordination:
Model electrical systems in
AVEVA Electrical/PDMS/E3D
with clash-free routing
Coordinate cable tray routing with piping/structural teams using
Navisworks
Produce
cable drum schedules and pulling schedules
Standards Compliance:
Maintain
company/Client drafting standards
Preferred:
ADNOC Drafting & CAD Standards & ARAMCO CAD Drafting Standards (SAES-A series, SAES-J series, etc.)
Working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, and relevant drafting standards
?Understanding of hazardous area classification drawings (Zone 0, 1, 2) and EX-rated equipment representation
Quality Control:
Conduct self-checks of drawings for dimensional accuracy and completeness
Maintain revision control of all Electrical documentation
Offshore Documentation:
Prepare
as-built packages
for offshore commissioning
Update drawings from
red-line markups
during site surveys
Requirements:
Education & Certification:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Drafting
Preferred:
CompEx/ATEX awareness training
Experience:
10+ years in
offshore oil & gas electrical drafting
Hands-on experience with
FPSO electrical systems
or
offshore platform electrification
Technical Skills:
Specialised Knowledge:
Coordination with electrical engineers, other discipline draftsmen, and site teams to incorporate mark-ups and updates
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & basic 3D)
Familiarity with MicroStation, Revit, Navisworks
Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) for documentation
Marine & offshore lighting systems
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of onshore and offshore facilities, including substations, process areas, utility buildings, and brownfield vs. greenfield work
Familiar with the typical phases of EPC projects
Soft Skills:
Ability to interpret engineering sketches into executable drawings
Meticulous attention to hazardous area details
Adaptability to fast-paced EPC environments
Effectively coordinates with electrical engineers, other drafting disciplines, and document control teams to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Carefully reviews and checks drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Language:
Fluent English (Arabic/Russian beneficial)
