Job Description

Job Summary:
The E&I Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial plants (oil & gas, petrochemical, power, manufacturing, etc.). The role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical distribution, control systems, and instrumentation while complying with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Systems:

• Design, install, and maintain electrical systems (LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, motors, cables, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA).
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination).
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions.

2. Instrumentation & Control Systems:

• Design, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, DCS, SCADA).
• Configure and troubleshoot process control loops (PID, HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
• Ensure proper functioning of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and emergency shutdown systems (ESD).

3. Project & Maintenance Support:

• Lead E&I projects (new installations, upgrades, retrofits).
• Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and procurement documents.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality workmanship.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance (thermography, vibration analysis).

4. Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure adherence to hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessment studies.
• Implement energy efficiency and reliability improvement programs.
