The MEP Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed shop drawings, coordination layouts, and as-built drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role requires deep technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with other disciplines to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant, and construction-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare
detailed MEP shop drawings
(HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting) based on design and site requirements.
Develop
coordination drawings
to ensure proper integration of MEP services with architectural and structural elements.
Review and update drawings according to
site changes, RFI responses, and consultant comments
.
Ensure all drawings comply with
project specifications, standards, and codes
.
Coordinate with MEP engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to resolve design or installation issues.
Maintain
drawing documentation, revision logs, and as-built records
.
Assist in the preparation of
composite drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams
.
Support project engineers in preparing
material take-offs
and design clarifications.
Attend
coordination meetings
when required to discuss drawing-related issues.
Requirements:
Diploma in
Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum
10 years of experience
in MEP drafting, preferably in
construction or interior fit-out projects
within the GCC.
Strong knowledge of
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems
.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and MS Office
.
Familiarity with
MEP standards, local authority codes, and international drafting practices
.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing drawings.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
