Draughtsman / CAD Technician
Job Title: Draughtsman (Civil/Structural/Architectural)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Reporting To: Senior Draughtsman, Design Engineer, or Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To produce accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. The Draughtsman will transform engineering designs and sketches into clear, precise drawings that can be used for construction, tendering, and approvals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and Dubai Municipality regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise 2D and 3D detailed drawings for civil, structural, and architectural works using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or similar.
• Interpret rough sketches, specifications, and calculations from engineers and architects to develop technical drawings.
• Prepare drawings for various project stages, including concept designs, tender drawings, IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, well-documented, and adhere to company and client standards.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to resolve any design discrepancies.
• Update drawings based on mark-ups and requests for information (RFIs) from the site team.
• Maintain an organized library of project drawings and revisions.
• Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and schedules from drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant Dubai Municipality codes and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field. A certification in CAD drafting is essential.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Draughtsman, preferably within the UAE/GCC construction industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Experience with Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, or MicroStation is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and architectural/engineering terminology.
• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes is highly desirable.
• Personal Skills: High attention to detail, excellent spatial reasoning, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, good communication skills.
